https://www.ifc.orgBefore joining the IFC in 2023 as Resident Representative for Tunisia and Libya, Sarah spent 14 years working for the French Development Agency (AFD) Group and its private-sector subsidiary, Proparco. She started her career on the ground in Sanaa, Yemen and then focused on extending debt to financial institutions and blended finance. In 2019, she opened Proparco’s regional office for the Middle East in Beirut and contributed to support businesses in fragile and emerging markets incl. Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the UAE.
Sarah is an Algerian and French national. She holds a master’s degree in international economics from Sciences Po Paris and two certificates from HEC Paris (corporate finance, business strategy). She speaks French, English, Arabic and Spanish.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys hiking, tasting Mediterranean food and reading contemporary novels.
