LBBC members are invited to join the LBBC Business Delegation which will visit Tripoli, Misurata and Zlitin from 19-23 February 2024, as guests of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. The LBBC is grateful to British Arab Commercial Bank (BACB) for its generous support as gold sponsors of the business delegation.
Peter Millett, Chairman of the LBBC, will lead the delegation which also has the support of the British Embassy and the Department for Business and Trade. During the visit the delegation will meet the National Oil Corporation, the Central Bank of Libya, the Misurata Free Zone and other leading organisations and private companies in Libya.
Our previous visits to Tripoli in November 2022 and Benghazi in June 2023 opened up key networking opportunities for delegates and this delegation is aimed to build further strong and productive relationships and partnerships of value to both sides.
The new British Ambassador, HE Dr Martin Longden has kindly agreed to host a Delegation Reception and the programme also includes briefings, networking events, panel discussions and B2B meetings.
The conference will address Libyan requirements in key sectors, including - but not restricted to – oil and gas, financial services, infrastructure. Cross-cutting issues such as education, training and others proposed by delegates will also be addressed.
The delegation will travel to Tripoli on 19 February. The Tripoli programme will be over two full days (20 and 21 February) and will include meetings, workshops, panel discussions, a Delegation Reception, networking lunches and dinners and a half day Conference.
The delegation will then travel as a group to Misurata and Zlitin on 22 February to attend meetings with the Misurata Free Zone (MFZ) and other local businesses, returning to Tripoli in the evening for an informal dinner before departing the next day.
